Why does Great Clips ask for my phone number and address?

Spy Ball. They want you in their database. They always ask for my phone number if I am in their system. You do not need to provide this information.

I had this experience in Great Clips and Radio Shake. I recently had the opportunity to get a haircut in Great Clips asking for my name, address and phone number. I laughed and said no. I'm not here for your business data mining, but for a haircut. Some commented on their phone numbers and never received a call. I told them to use whatever they wanted. They looked great and I had a great haircut. At Radio Shake, I was told that it was the store's policy to get customers' names and phone numbers. I told him it was my policy not to keep it.
